Storytelling Workshops

Through the Leadership Idea Exchange, ArtsLab has designed and facilitated five opportunities for members of the arts sector to gather for day-long retreat sessions. Guided by the theme: Living in an Uncertain World—What Stories Do We Weave to Sustain Us?, the events were facilitated by ArtsLab staff and guest artists from July through December, 2012.

“It is easy to feel isolated in our work–this is helpful to be reminded of our connections and common visions.” —Reflection from December 2013 event participant

During the highly participatory series, we used small group conversation, movement exercises, visual art, and other storytelling techniques to explore the role that creativity and the artistic process play in strategic thinking, decision making, and problem solving. Information from each of the events can be accessed below, including photos of the art created at each event.

Our thanks go to the Bush Foundation for their generous support of these events.
